Ankaase Literacy Program

Anne Gongwer, a former-teacher-turned-missionary, moved to the village of Ankaase in 1998. She immediately saw the need for increased education and literacy training among the inhabitants of her community and the surrounding villages. Since many of the children in rural areas do not always have the opportunity to attend school, the illiteracy rate was high in remote areas. Anne began the Ankaase Literacy Program, enabling many Ghanaians to learn how to read and write in their native tongue. A New Testament is presented as a gift upon completion of the course.
