Apply for an Internship General Information:
Job Description:
The goal of the Intern Program is to provide an opportunity for genuine cross-cultural ministry for building the Kingdom of God and nurturing the intern’s ministerial gifts. The Mission Society’s mentoring missionary will provide specific job descriptions for each intern, allowing him or her to participate in the organization’s ongoing ministries overseas.
Age: The minimum age for an intern is 19. To serve longer than four months, the intern must be at least 20 years old. Interns do not need to be U.S. citizens, but they must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Service Terms: Interns may serve from 1-11 months. Those interested in longer terms should inquire into the ME-1 or ME-2 terms of service.
Application: Interested persons should complete an Interest Form and submit it to The Mission Society. Once the Interest Form has been reviewed, the intern candidate will receive a call from a missions coach who will explain the application process. After successful completion of the application process, the candidate will have an interview for approval.
Training: In addition to attending a four-day training event in Atlanta, interns will be assigned recommended reading. Language school may be incorporated into some internships, depending upon length of service.
Cost: The Field Ministry department will work with the host missionary to provide a budget. Interns are responsible for raising 100% of these financial needs. The Mission Society’s accounting department will set up an account for the administration of financial support and coordinate receipt of the donations. Interns will receive a modest stipend, but have the option of waiving it in order to decrease the amount of support that must be raised.
